Why can’t I just buy a speaker without all these requirements?

Speakers get blamed for upstream problems. Our policies prevent that. No confusion. No weak links. Only the ultimate result.
Why do you prefer biamplification or triamplification over passive crossovers? Lots of good speakers have passive crossovers.
Biamplification is required for control and efficiency. Nothing else preserves the design.
1. Amplifier Control Each amp handles only its driver’s range. No wasted power. No intermodulation between woofer and tweeter signals.
2. Damping Factor Direct connection to the voice coil. No inductors or capacitors in the path. Tighter bass, better transient control.
3. Near Zero Power Loss So the drivers receive power with substantially reduced losses.
4. Precision Filtering Eliminates passive-crossover insertion losses. Allows precise high-order filtering and phase/time adjustment. Removes passive component/driver-impedance interactions. Reduced frequency or transient anomalies. Steeper possible slopes protect tweeters. Driver overlap is minimized because overlap degrades sound.
5. Level Matching Turn the amp down. No L-pads. No power loss.
6. Time Alignment More precise and practical than passive. Exact, not approximate.
7. Easier Load Woofer impedance swings 4 Ω to 40 Ω near resonance. Biamplification isolates that load. Tweeter amp never sees the bass peak. Both amps run cooler, cleaner.
What is biamplification and triamplification?
An electronic crossover splits the signal before amplification. Biamplification: separate amps for woofer and tweeter. Triamplification: separate amps for woofer, midrange, and tweeter.

What are the usual delivery times?
Delivery times depend on the availability of the parts we need for your design, the length of time it may take to find a rare part or to have a custom-made part delivered, and the complexity of the design itself. Because each Altisonus is made by hand to the customer's individual requirements, we cannot simply pull an item off the shelf and deliver it to you. So you will be advised of a projected delivery time when we discuss your order with you. We strive to achieve an 8-week maximum delivery time.
What are your sales terms and conditions?
Because each order is unique, the down payment and final payment will be arranged when we finalize your order.
How do you handle shipping?
Shipping or delivery is arranged according to the size, value and destination of the loudspeaker; charges are quoted before purchase. We’ll arrange delivery. Customers should inspect promptly for shipping damage and contact Altisonus immediately if there is a problem. Local delivery or setup in the Kansas City Metropolitan area is available.
What is your warranty?
We’re confident our work will be right, so every Altisonus we make has a Lifetime Warranty against defects (that excludes only abuse and Acts of God). Once you receive your Altisonus, you have 45 days to decide how cool it is. If you want to return it, you may. To qualify for a full refund (excluding shipping), the returned speaker has to be as good as new in its original packing; otherwise we have to charge a 35% restocking fee to fix it and clean it up.
